Private WoW Servers are World of Warcraft Video Game Servers that are run privately (NOT by Blizzard). These Private WoW Servers are usually very different from a regular (or ‘Retail’) World of Warcraft Server in many ways. For one, there are generally no monthly fees, and on some servers you can go from level 1 to level 85 within seconds of logging in. If you want to play on a WoW Private Server, there are several places to look for them, but here is the best place in my opinion:

How To Play on a WoW Private Server – Playing on a Private World of Warcraft Server (AKA a WoW Private Server) is easier than you would think. You really don’t need much at all to get started. If, however, you do still have an active account with Blizzard, I would suggest setting up a separate username, password, and email address from your retail World of Warcraft account that you can use for your WoW Private Server endeavors.
Once you have that information, you’ll need to find a WoW Private Server to create an account on and connect to. To do this, I would suggest simply heading on over to http://wowstatus.net and picking a server from the list. One thing to look for are the WoW Private Servers labeled ‘Funserver’. These are the WoW Private Servers that tend to give the most different gameplay experience from retail World of Warcraft Servers. I definitely suggest trying at least one.
Once you choose a Private WoW server to connect to, all you have to do is modify your realmlist.wtf file to use thatPrivate WoW Server’s connection information. To do this, simply locate your realmlist.wtf file, open it in notepad, and replace the server names there with the WoW Private server names. Then, save & close the file and you’re done!
All you have to do is run WoW, log in, and begin playing on your World of Warcraft Private Server.
